31 days: ramblings from the weekend

Weekends in our kitchen are a little different than weekdays. I try to avoid any major cooking unless it is something really fun, like a dessert. We also tend to use some of our special items brought to us from the states. Today we had a box of Mac'n'cheese for lunch. On weekends I take a break from my regular health conscience breakfasts and make yummy things like scones. I was out of nearly every ingredient this weekend so I didn't get to make the pumpkin scones I was craving, but I think I'll make them tomorrow. Come back for a link to that recipe and my alterations.

Tonight we had pizza, our favorite food. Well, it's not Jude's favorite yet, but hopefully he'll come around! Seriously, there have been times (yeah, plural) when I have been thinking about pizza for dinner only to remember I had pizza for lunch and probably shouldn't have it twice in one day! The current crust recipe we are using is amazing. I adapted it a bit from one I found online to make a thick  cast iron skillet crust. Tonight we tried using it for a thin crust pizza and it worked out great! Carson did the work this time, because Silas wanted me.
