Visitors

We had an amazing time with Carson's parents. His mom arrived just 2 days after Silas was born and his dad a couple weeks later. Here are a few pictures from their time here.

It is always special to spend time with family, but it was particularly nice to have extra help in the first weeks with a new baby. Jude got lots of attention and Silas got lots of cuddles.

They left Mwanza on Wednesday, but have only just made it back to Tennessee due to delays in Dar. 

Later on Wednesday we picked up the 5 interns who will be with our team for 7 weeks. We are already enjoying this great group and look forward to our time with them.

Surprise

Silas was a surprise. A big surprise, almost a shock really. 

And now? 5 weeks after an equally shocking arrival. (3cm to born in 1 hour on Pitocin. The doctor wasn't even there.)

We are head over heels for this little guy.

I questioned it. The timing seemed off. I hoped and hoped that I wouldn't get sick and then spent a week in the hospital. 

But, pregnancy doesn't last forever. Praise God. And He knows how to give good gifts.

This guy is a really, really good one.

back in Geita

We've been back in Geita for about a week now and are settling into life with a new baby. Jude is having lots of fun with Gran-Nan and Granpa and Silas is loving all the extra cuddle time!

I attempted to get a few pics of the boys yesterday, and this is the only one I got with Jude cooperating!
