We found a house! Like a lot of houses here, it is not quite finished. Carson is busy most days buying supplies, checking in on the progress, and of course adding his own creative touches to our house. He's currently working on a concrete sink. This morning he brought 2 of the fundi bombas (plumbers) by to show them the sink mold. He's very excited about teaching new building techniques here.
Here's the front of the house:

And the inside of the living room. You can see into the dining room as well.

As you can tell there is still a bit of work to be done, but we should be able to move in by the end of October. Hopefully our container will arrive around the same time. Until it does, we don't really have anything to move in with!
The house is in a good location. It's far enough out of town that we won't hear any bars at night, but close enough to walk or ride a bike to the market. It's also on a big enough plot to have a garden and for Carson to build some sort of work space for his tools.
This house is the next big step to getting settled in Geita.
We've not been in our own place since July 2008, so we are getting really excited!

Congratulations on the house guys! I know you will be excited to "get settled", whatever that is anymore.
