Here's a small glimpse of what Carson has been up to since we've been back in Geita.

Buying mirrors! I brush my hair almost everyday now that I see myself.

He turned 26 on May 21st.
One night we arrived home around 10pm and when we opened the gate, it fell off. Not exactly a problem you want to have at 10pm. Carson did something to temporarily attach it and then got some welders to fix it the next day.
This is the welding machine. I don't know if there is an actual term for them since I am not a welder. Despite my lack of knowledge in this field, I'm gonna say that machine does not look especially safe.

Building me the prettiest clothes line on the block! It's also much more functional than the make-shift one that had been taken over by tree branches.
Another interesting task of Carson's that I have no picture for is working on water lines throughout the neighborhood. One morning our neighbor was at the gate upset because just across the street someone had cut into the pipe that delivers water to both of our houses and people were standing around filling buckets. The neighbor got the people away long enough for Carson to fix the pipe. Then, everyone took off running down the street to another leak in the pipe. Carson repaired that one. This continued for a while until he finally closed off a certain pipe that was the main problem. Maintaining a water supply is a never ending job around here.

And what have I been up to? Well, moments like this
are few and far between.
Most days I'm doing good to get dinner on the table! I have made it to the market a couple of times, hemmed some curtains, and started prepping Jude's room for paint. Hopefully within a month or two I'll have enough down time to get going on some development work I'm dreaming about.
