furlough

Sorry for the long silence in blog world. We've enjoyed catching up with many of our blog readers in person, but thought I should do a post for the rest of you. Here are some pics from our furlough so far.

38 weeks! This means Jude could come anytime, but in reality he doesn't seem to be very close. We took guesses on Facebook as to when he would arrive and everyone was very nice picking mostly early dates, but I'm trying to prepare myself for the reality that most first babies are late. I'm feeling good, but generally uncomfortable and I can hardly put my own socks on!

Here's Carson in my parent's back yard during the first "blizzard". Today we are at the farm enjoying another "blizzard". We are thrilled to be seeing so much snow. It's nice to need socks and scarves for a change.

Last weekend we enjoyed some time at Westwood. Carson gave a report on Geita for a combined Sunday School Class and after church they threw us a lovely baby shower. It was so nice to see friends and lots of family. I'm sure Jude will enjoy all of his gifts!

Oh my word! Your belly! That's what I looked like, isn't it? :). I can't believe it's so close. How are you going to get all of this baby stuff back to Geita?!

have you guys thought about changing your blog name, since you're not actually the mcneals in geita now? oh yeah, another wazungu family just moved to town that are called the mcneals.

but it's easy to tell you guys apart, because their mrs. mcneal doesn't have a stomach that reaches sengerema...

I found your blog while reading Anna Maria Horner's... we too are about to have a March baby. I have to admit that I let out a sigh of relief that the little one did not decide to come yesterday on the last day of February. We still have 11 days until the due date and I am also hoping that our first baby does not follow the trend of first babies in coming late. I wish you much joy and blessings on the arrival of your little one and hope that you enjoy your time in the States... we always stock up on all our favorites while we are home. Enjoy!
