sneak peak

We will be back on U.S. soil and enjoying furlough in just 9 days! It is crazy how soon that is! We've been working on a photo book to share with everyone while we are back, but I thought I would share a sneak peak with our avid blog readers.

This is me at Mzee Charles' duka. A duka is a little store. Most things here are purchased at some sort of duka. There are duka la dawas (duka of medicine- pharmacy), dukas that have all hardware items, dukas that have buckets and other plastic goods, etc. And then there are dukas that just carry a random assortment of goods. At this particular one, I buy flour, sugar, toliet paper, and Ginger Ale.
Here is a hardware duka.
Here's a shot of the market, where we get produce.
Well, if that didn't satisfy your appetite for pictures of Geita you'll have to wait a bit longer and see our book when we get back! (or you could check out Carson's mom's facebook page. she has posted several other pics from the book)

p.s.- If you have some time on your hands we would appreciate some prayers for water! Our water situation is certainly not the most dire need in the world today, or even in Geita for that matter, but if we don't get some city water or a massive downpour pretty soon I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about all the laundry piling up!
